She speaks about as much english as i do spanish. We are both in our twenties, and i see her in the gym every now and then. She usually comes in with her mom who does speak english. I know how to introduce myself, but I don’t know what i should say after that. Should i just introduce myself and leave it at that, I want her to know i am interested though. Should I ask her out right after i introduce myself? Where would I take her? Any other advise?

Is it OK to tell spanish speaking students in my class they have to speak English?
Posted in English Speaking with tags Learn Spanish, National Language, School Art Teacher, Spanish Class, Spanish Speaking on April 14, 2009 by mambococoI am a High School art teacher and I have a group of Spanish speaking students who can also speak English. They are constantly giggling and laughing when they speak Spanish & I don’t feel comfortable in my own classroom. I think it is great to be bilingual but I am not and I also don’t feel I should have to learn Spanish. Not to make this sound rude but our national language is English and that is what we should speak first.
What accent do Japanese use when speaking English?
Posted in English Speaking with tags Circles, German Accent, Japanese Accent, Japanese Person, Stupid Question on April 13, 2009 by mambococoI know that it’s a Japanese accent, but where does it come from?
Lets say that a Japanese person learns English from someone whose native language is German. Would they pick up on that German accent? Guess that’s a stupid question. Of course they would.
But for writing purposes, which accent would you use for a Japanese character speaking English? British?
Some examples would be most appreciated. Sorry for writing circles around myself.

Where can I find an english-speaking job in Madrid, Spain for the summer?
Posted in English Speaking with tags Bike Tours, English Speaking, Find Job, Job Spain, Madrid Spain on March 4, 2009 by mambococoI am really looking to do something for a couple months next summer that is english-speaking in Madrid. So it would probably be tourist-related work. I am really interested in living and working there next summer and would love to find something suitable to do. I have already e-mailed a few bike tours and got no response. Thanks for the help!
